In March 2020, Copenhagen, like much of the world, changed overnight. As the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic took hold, the city’s public spaces emptied. This photo essay wish to document how everyday life adapted during the early days of the pandemic. From sparsely populated streets to altered social behaviors, the images offer a glimpse into a moment in time when physical separation became a public health necessity and an unspoken part of daily life. Five years later, these scenes serve as a visual record of a city, and a society, in quiet transition.
